Tattered Cover Book Store is one of the largest independent bookstores in the U.S. and has been open since 1971. In December 2020, friends and born-and-raised Denver residents, David Back, Kwame Spearman, and Alan Frosh, took over the historic bookstore with the goal to maintain the store’s legacy and create memorable, community-based experiences. The shop has an extensive selection of new and used books ranging from best sellers and kids’ books to classics and audiobooks. The Denver institution also hosts over 500 author events a year.
